The surgery lasted 2 hours and 15 min. Chris, Don, Mom and I all went out to brunch while we waited. When we got back the Dr. visited with us and told us that dad did in fact have Avascular Neuclosis, that the ball of his femur was completely missing... turned into sand and the cartilage was just sitting there. The replaced it with titanium and it went well. Dad went into recovery and was there most of the day, evening, and night. They assigned dad a room, but his blood pressure had dropped rapidly as they were going to move him. They then decided to move him into a monitored room instead for the night. We were finally able to see him and he was pale as a ghost. But he had his humor... so that was reassuring. His blood pressure had moved up a little in the time we were there, which was good.
